Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
Here is some fun for our French future farmer friends (and some alliteration):
About 30 miles away from Byron Nelson, in the city of Fort Worth, it is the moment of the historic Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. It has been going on every year since 1896. This is one of the biggest livestock shows in the country.
Many families, even those who are not ranchers or farmers, like to visit the show each year at some point to see the many different types of animals that are competing. There are students from our school in our agricultural program (FFA - Future Farmers of America) who raise and show livestock in the show. Often the animals are then auctioned at the end of the show for a large profit.
Here is a video from last year's show of a student from another school who sold his grand champion steer for $200,000.
